THE TRAINING INSTITUTE

After the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, temporary Training Institute was established vide G.O.M.S. No. 110, Dt. 27-06-2017 of Home (Prisons and Fire Services) Department at Fire Station premises, Sattenapalle, Guntur District and it is functioning from 30-10-2018.

The Institute is imparting Institute is imparting In-Service Training Course to Firemen, Leading Firemen, Driver Operators and Station Fire Officers in their respective promotional courses. The institute also conducts Short-term courses on Basic Fire Prevention and First Aid Fire Fighting Training courses to the employees, Security personnel of Industries, Malls, Multiplexes, Hospitals & Assembly etc and general public on payment of User Charges.

The activities of Civil Defence and Disaster Management were entrusted to this department by the Government of Andhra Pradesh on the recommendation of High Power Committee headed by Sri K.M. Singh, Member, NDMA on Revamping of Civil Defence.

The Government sanctioned 30 new posts to the Institute as per G.O. Ms. 59, Dt. 19-03-2013 to conduct various Civil Defence Programmes. The Government designated the Director General, State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department as Director, Civil Defence of the State of Andhra Pradesh for coordination, supervision and training of the Civil Defence Organisation as per G.O. Ms. No. 21 Dt. 15.02.2018 of Home (Prisons & Fire Services) department
